Job Overview:
The Facilities Director is responsible for the day-to-day and long-term maintenance associated with the operation of the church’s physical plant. This is a full-time position that supports the ministries and mission of Cedarcrest Church by working with staff, teams, and members to provide an environment that is functional and hospitable.
Key Responsibilities
Building Operations
- Supervise daily cleaning of building utilizing in-house and contract personnel.
- Inspect buildings on a daily walk-through to identify potential problems or maintenance issues.
- Perform maintenance within the limits of personal skills (connect and recruit contractors where needed).
- Manage heating and air conditioning schedules for recurring and one- time events.
- Serve as first contact person for all outside contractors.
- Schedule necessary repairs and period inspections with contract vendors as needed by ensuring competitive and fair pricing obtained.
- Maintain roof drains, gutters and downspouts by routinely inspecting.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and equipment; periodically check pricing with various vendors to insure cost efficiency.
- Maintain a working set of keys, fobs as needed in the facility; ensuring an accurate record is maintained showing the disbursement of keys, fobs (to whom, date, etc.)
- Coordinate opening/closing the building, and the opening/closing of the facilities for various approved events utilizing the space.
- Coordinate IT and network maintenance as needed with contracted vendor(s).
- Responsible for securing the facility after hours.
- Oversee repair and maintenance of church-owned vehicles.
Grounds
- Coordinate grounds maintenance with contract landscaping company.
- Perform frequent walk-through inspection of property to identify potential problems or maintenance issues and provide hands-on repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Coordinate with contract vendors for repairs/maintenance by ensuring competitive and fair pricing is obtained.
Team Leadership/Administration
- Supervise custodial resources (staff and contract personnel).
- Meets regularly with the Operations Director for goal setting, managing projects, and updates.
- Effectively plan and schedule Facilities resources to assume maximum productivity.
- Review invoices related to building and property.
- Monitor and record energy consumption and related costs for all utilities; proactively seek ways to conserve energy consumption.
- Ensure detailed records are maintained on upgraded lighting and other energy-conserving efforts.
- Organize and retain maintenance records for the building, contacts of outside vendors/volunteers, and annual/seasonal maintenance checklists.
- Coordinate facility teams to facilitate operations (setup and teardown, chairs, teams, etc.)
Facilities – Room & Event Setup
- Oversee proper set-up and tear-down of all church facilities for church- related events, outside rental of rooms, and building functions.
- Coordinate facilities resources to ensure requirements for use of rooms/ building are executed properly.
Qualifications
- Self-motivated with professional demeanor and presence; positive attitude, strong work ethic, effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Requires a high level of organizational skills with ability to successfully manage multiple tasks to completion.
- Previous facilities management or equivalent experience required.
- Certification in relevant maintenance areas or willingness to seek certification.
- A committed follower of Jesus and one who models Cedarcrest Church’s mission, vision, and values.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Self-starting, self-directed, and goal-oriented.
- Works well in a team environment and has a collaborative mindset.
- Must complete additional training such as a Freedom Group, Discipleship School, offsite conferences, etc. as needed.
- Proficient with Mac OS, Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Workspace, and Google Drive (forms, documents, drive, mail, and calendar, etc.)

Work Environment
- Workdays are Sunday through Thursday, with additional events throughout the year that may fall outside of these days.
- Holidays and high-attendance events are designated as vacation blackout dates.
- Primarily on-site at Cedarcrest Church, with occasional travel for events, training, or conferences.
