Job Overview:

Cedarcrest Church is seeking a passionate and skilled full time Worship Director to join our team at Cedarcrest Church. This individual will lead worship in various venues on our campus and help steward the culture and development of the worship department. The ideal candidate will have a heart for ministry, strong musical abilities, and a desire to engage and inspire our congregation through worship. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Worship Leadership
    • Plan, organize, and lead worship services in the Worship Center/The West Auditorium on Sundays, First Wednesdays, 21 Days of Prayer, church events, etc. 
    • Lead rehearsals and function as the bottom line leader in whatever venue they are leading in. 
  • Team Development: 
    • In collaboration with the Weekend Experience Director, lead the Worship Development Process. 
      • Schedule, plan and create each Development Night. (flow, songs, charts, content, etc) 
      • Follow up with Team Leaders about the growth of Team Members.
      • Keep Weekend Experience Director informed on growth and development of team. 
    • Assist in planning/executing Creative Team Nights. 
    • Sustain and build a worship team that serves Jesus first and Cedarcrest Church second. 
  • Service Planning: 
    • Collaborate with the Weekend Experience Director to develop and implement worship service themes, song selections, and service flow that align with the overall vision of the church. 
    • Build sets in Playback & Planning Center.
    • Become proficient in building out Propresenter. Weekly inputting songs, media, sermon notes, etc. 
    • Attend weekly production walk-throughs.
  • Whole-Church Engagement: 
    • Participate in church events and outreach activities, representing the worship ministry and building connections within the church community. 
    • Attend staff meetings.
    • Assist in helping to provide leadership when there are inter-department worship needs. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with worship trends, new songs and music styles, integrating fresh ideas while remaining true to the church’s mission and values. 
Qualifications
  • Experience: Proven experience in worship leading in a local church setting.
  • Technical/Creative Skills: Strong vocal and instrumental proficiency; ability to play guitar or piano is preferred. Familiarity with worship planning software and audio/visual equipment. 
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of volunteers and staff.
