Job Overview:

Cedarcrest Church is seeking a highly creative and experienced full-time Visual Arts Director to capture and produce high-quality video/photography content that supports our mission, vision, and weekly ministry needs. This role will oversee all stages of video production and photography—from concept development to filming, editing, and final delivery—ensuring our digital storytelling is impactful and inspiring. The ideal candidate will be passionate about using visual arts to inspire, educate, and connect with our community and church family.

Key Responsibilities
  • Video Production: Plan, shoot, and edit video content for a variety of church needs, including Sunday services, Sunday Updates, special events, testimonies, sermon series, promotional materials, and social media.
  • Content Creation: Collaborate with ministry leaders to develop engaging content ideas and storytelling strategies that align with Cedarcrest Church’s messaging and values.
  • Editing & Post-Production: Use video editing software to enhance footage by adding graphics, music, and sound effects, ensuring a high-quality final output.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple video projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining creative excellence and technical precision.
  • Media Management: Develop and maintain a system for organizing servers, drives, and online storage to house and archive Cedarcrest Church’s media.
  • Equipment Management: Maintain and organize video production equipment, recommend necessary upgrades, and ensure proper setup and use of all videography tools.
  • Social Media & Digital Integration: Work with the Communications Team to create video content optimized for digital platforms, including social media, the church website, and email marketing.
  • Creative Collaboration: Partner with the Communications Team to ensure cohesive branding and message alignment across all church media.
  • Volunteer Training: Recruit, train, and equip volunteer videographers and editors to support video needs and assist with special projects.
  • Photography: Lead a team of volunteer photographers to capture high-quality photos during Sunday services and church-wide events.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of professional videography experience, preferably in a church or ministry setting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, After Effects), camera operation, lighting, and sound.
  • Creative Skills: Strong storytelling ability, a keen eye for composition, and a solid understanding of visual design and cinematography principles.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and ministries.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and an unwavering commitment to quality in every production detail.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handle constructive feedback, and adjust to changes in project direction.
